Our Story
Born From Community Need
The Pan African Family Union was founded in 2015 in direct response to the challenges facing African refugee and immigrant families in our community. Our founders witnessed firsthand the struggles — difficulties navigating law enforcement interactions, mental health challenges compounded by displacement and trauma, health disparities, and the slow erosion of family bonds when social and cultural outlets are absent.
What began as a grassroots effort to create safe, welcoming spaces for African families has grown into a comprehensive community organization. We are proud to hold 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, reflecting our commitment to transparency, accountability, and long-term community impact.
